Presentations are just stories.
Discover from the company you’re involved with what presentation tools you can use (DVD overviews, websites, webinars, recorded calls, hotel meetings, etc.), but hold fast to the idea that you are sharing yourself, not just your company. Your company is just an extension of your vision, your dreams, and your leadership. People who partner with you join you, not your business. Paint the picture of what that looks like for them, and you will have a team that thrives!
Two very important aspects you can apply:
1. If you have invited someone – whether it’s a coffee shop or home presentation, a webinar, website, or recorded call, or a hotel meeting, be on the edge of your seat. People will notice when the person who brought them isn’t interested. This influences the all important question, “Do I join this person’s team?” Don’t text someone and try to figure out why they aren’t there that day, be engaged with the presentation! Clap at appropriate times! Make sure they see what it is you have to offer them when they partner with you!
2. If you’re the presenter – Wherever the presentation takes place, remember, you’re telling a story. People love to hear stories that they can identify with. Become a master at telling the story of your company… and make sure you include the story that is still being written and how it can look for them if they step into it! People will catch this vision much more than facts and figures.
Keep the presentation short! 45 minutes of talking is pushing it and 21 minutes is about all anyone can handle of a slideshow… Remember the age-old proverb of Direct Sales and Network Marketing:
